Last week, for Thanksgiving, a colleague of mine invited me for the friendly house dinner (It was my second American Thaksgiving, 10 years after the first one).
There I met his wife Joanna.
Talking randomly, she mentioned having an experince some years ago in Uganda.
“Where about?” was the natural question for me to ask.
“Gulu” she replied.
I was quite surprised since most of people I met in the last year who had been in Uganda did not know about Gulu.
The surprise was even greater when it turns out that she had been
volunteering at the Saint Jude orphanage in 2009 and she knew very well the nice

I showed her the pictures of my adventure last year and she was
impressed by the improvements they had accomplished since she had been there.
For the duration of the conversation it was like to be back in that magic and hopeful land.
One more coincidence is that I am writing this post today, Dec 8th,
which is the day I took my flight to Uguanda last year.
Time flies!
